New Inventions and Futuristic Technologies in the World of Kitchen Appliances

A Jetson like kitchen may not be as far off as you may think. There are several revolutionary kitchen appliance technologies out there that are right on the brink of viability, futuristic gadgets that include a fridge that uses bright green gel instead of electricity, a laptop that allows you to cook and surf the Internet at the same time and a toaster that allows you to toast your bread while also printing different images on it at the same time. Does that sound almost too crazy to believe? Well, take a look at the list we have compiled below!

Gel Bio Robot Fridge

This futuristic fridge – courtesy of Russian inventor and designer Yuriy Dimitriev – features no doors and no shelves, just a semi-solid green goo that both suspends and cools your food.  On top of that, while a traditional refrigerator uses 8% of a household’s total energy, the Bio Robot Fridge uses 0%. It turns out that the goo is not the only green thing about this fridge.

While this refrigerator is still a bit more in the concept phase, it is not as far off as you might believe.

Boxetti Compact Kitchen

Imagine having every aspect of your kitchen in one box. That is essentially what the Boxetti Compact Kitchen is, a box (well, actually it’s a kitchen island) that contains all the functionality and technology of any modern kitchen. This island houses expandable bar seats, an automatic sliding coutnertop which reveals a working sink, a fridge, shelving, storage space, and much more!

Induction Stoves

Induction stoves offer the same quality and efficiency of a gas range without any of the risk. By using a magnetic field to cook your food, these futuristic stoves supply heat directly to the cooking vessel itself. This means that you could essentially have your hand on the same surface as a pot of boiling water without getting burned. Pretty cool huh?

Plus, induction stoves are more than twice as energy efficient as gas. So much heat escapes with gas that about only 40% of the energy is used to cook, whereas with induction heating, you use 84%.

Electrolux Laptop Kitchen Concept

Do you often think, “Man, I wish I could cook a pot of noodles on my laptop?” Well, you’re in luck. The Electrolux Laptop Kitchen Concept utilizes the aforementioned induction heating technology (four induction rings to be precise) to allow just that. You can cook and surf the web at the same time.

Scan Toaster

Tired of boring old toast? Wish your bread was a little more aesthetically pleasing? Luckily for you, the makers of the Scan Toaster were wishing for the exact same things. This futuristic twist to a traditional toaster allows you to not only toast your bread, but also print a design directly onto your bread.

What will they think of next…
